The best 2:49 minute demonstration of a Makerbot Thing-O-Matic

One of the things we like to do here at 3Dprinter.net is watch the growing coverage of 3D printing in the media — especially the non-technical media, like when Time magazine showcased Makerbot or when Ovation TV network’s My Design Life went gaga over 3D printing.

It’s not as much of a breakthrough when a tech site gets into 3D printers, but we have to say that we really enjoyed the interview and 3D printing demonstration we saw today on Canada’s Get Connected website. We liked it because John Biehler, a Makerbot Thing-O-Matic owner, gives arguably the best tour of the 3D printer for potential hobbyists that we’ve yet seen. And he does it all in about two minutes! This guy talks fast, gets to the point and leaves nothing out. We bloggers are always running behind schedule, so we thank you, John.

If you have any friends that you want to help understand what can be done with a home 3D printer and how it works, ask them if they have three minutes and sit them down to watch this video.

And Makerbot, if you’re looking for another spokesman, we recommend John Biehler. If you’re paying for video production by the minute, he can save you some money.
